Baseball's Rally Falls Short in Game Two Loss to Laney

Fairfield, Calif. - Sophomore Kyle Krebs counted a double and scored two runs for the Falcons, but Solano fell short against Laney, 13-8, on Friday afternoon in game two of the series.

Seven different Solano players counted a hit with Krebs and sophomores Nik Dodson and Isaiah Verrett all counting a pair of RBI.

Laney took an early 2-0 lead through three innings before the Falcons knotted the game up. But the Eagles scored 10 more runs in the following innings despite Solano's six-run seventh inning.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Danny Zaldivar (2-4) was charged with the loss after five innings of work, allowing only five earned runs and striking out a trio.

The Falcons (5-12, 1-1) head back to Oakland to close the series against Laney on Saturday at 2 p.m.
