Baseball Rebounds to Capture Series at Laney

Oakland, Calif. - The Solano baseball team struck first and had the last word with a two-run ninth inning to capture the conference opening series over Laney on Saturday afternoon in game three with a final score of 3-2.

Freshman George Hernandez counted his only hit of the game in the top of the ninth, batting in the tying run, before the go-ahead run scored on a throwing error. 

On the mound, freshman Edgar Aqui Cruz (2-1) and sophomore Kyle Krebs combined to throw four innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit. Krebs picked up his second save of the season.

Solano (6-12, 2-1) opens up the three-game series against Contra Costa at home on Tuesday, Mar. 12 at 2:30 p.m.
