Baseball Drops 3-1 Contest at Laney

Oakland, Calif. - The Solano pitching staff threw a four-hitter, but the Falcons dropped a 3-1 contest at Laney on Friday afternoon.

Freshman righty Jesse Rodriguez started on the mound for the Falcons, scattering two hits and fanning eight. In relief, freshman Davis Dunkley (0-1) was charged with the loss after allowing two earned runs on two hits and a pair of walks. Freshman Herbie Lane finished the game for the Falcons for the final out of the side.

Four different Falcons recorded hits in the outing with freshman rightfielder Cameron Martin leading the way with a double. Sophomore centerfielder Wellington Balsley earned the team's lone RBI on an error by Tito Fuentes.

Solano (4-14) faces Laney again to open Bay Valley Conference play on Tuesday, Mar. 10 at 2:30 p.m.
