Softball Dominates Doubleheader at Yuba to Open Conference Play

Marysville, Calif. - Sophomore Adriana Montuya went 8-of-10 over both games of the Falcons' dominating 22-1 and 20-1 wins at Yuba on Tuesday afternoon to open Bay Valley Conference Play.

Montuya earned three doubles on the day with eight runs scored and seven RBI. The righty also picked up the complete-game win (3-2) in the second game of the doubleheader, allowing only one earned run on three hits, while fanning eight.

Sophomore Courtney McGraw was close behind offensively with a 7-of-10 outing, counting six runs and seven RBI with two doubles. She also picked up her first win of the season in the circle (1-3), only allowing one earned run with three strikeouts.

And rounding out the hot Falcon battery was reigning Solano Athletics February Athlete of the Month Alaena Selden who hit the team's only triple and connected on 6-of-10 attempts for hits with five runs scored and nine RBI.

The Falcons (6-6, 2-0) return home to host Folsom Lake in a doubleheader on Thursday, Mar. 14 beginning at 1 p.m.
