Montuya Tabbed Pitcher of the Year; Five Land All-BVC First Team Accolades

Fairfield, Calif. - Sophomore Adriana Montuya was tabbed the Bay Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, while four other Falcons joined her on the All-BVC First Team, announced Thursday.

Freshmen Caitlin Aston and sophomores Courtney McGraw, Alaena Selden, and Aleya Turner also all earned first team accolades.

Montuya was a perfect 6-0 in BVC play in six appearances in the circle. She threw two complete games, allowing only nine earned runs, no home runs, while fanning 37. She averaged 7.62 strikeouts per seven innings and boasted a 1.85 ERA.

Aston hit .426 in conference play with five doubles, 21 RBI, and 21 stolen bases. McGraw boasted the second-best batting average on the team, hitting .538 with 12 doubles, 25 RBI, and 20 runs. And Selden hit .500 with 11 doubles, two home runs, 36 RBI, and 27 runs. The reigning 3CFCA Player of the Week, Turner led the team with a .574 batting average with nine doubles, four triples, 21 RBI and 32 runs.

The Falcons will await their postseason fate after taking the BVC title with a perfect record, 21-13 overall.
