Softball Downs Yuba in Doubleheader

Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman Emma Woodworth went 5-for-7 with three doubles to pace the Falcon offense as it downed Yuba in Thursday's doubleheader. Solano won by scores of 17-6 and 13-5 with both games ending after five innings.

Woodworth finished the day with two RBI and five runs, going yard in the second game. Freshman Kenadi Akin also went 5-for-7 with two doubles, seven RBI, and four runs.

In the circle, freshmen Kiera Edwards (2-1) earned both wins for the Falcons, scattering four hits in the complete game victory in the first of the two games, and allowing only two earned runs. In the second game, she came in relief in the third inning, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings on a two-hitter, while fanning three.

The Solano softball team (3-5) remains home, hosting Sierra next on Tuesday, May 11 in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
