Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano softball team wrapped up the 2021 season with a doubleheader sweep of Mendocino on Tuesday.
The Falcons came from behind to edge Mendocino, 13-12, in the seventh before cruising to a 15-3 five-inning win.
In game one, freshman Kiera Edwards counted the walkoff RBI single, her third hit and RBI of the game. Freshman Katie Poole led all batters with a 3-for-5 performance with five RBI, including a two-run shot.
Poole again earned five RBI in game two, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Freshman Gracie Alves backed her performance, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Edwards also counted both wins in the circle, throwing 8.2 total innings with five strikeouts and scattering eight hits.
Solano ends the abbreviated season with a 5-9 record.
