Women's Soccer Opens BVC Play with 3-2 Win over Yuba

Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman Isabel Olmedo scored the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute to lift the Solano women's soccer team (1-5-2, 1-0) to a 3-2 win over Yuba (3-4-1, 0-1) on Friday afternoon to open Bay Valley Conference play.

After trading goals in the first half, heading into halftime tied at 2, Olmedo broke the draw off an assist by freshman Karla Cardinal. Olmedo also scored the teams second goal off a cross from freshman Grace Lee in the 39th minute.

Freshman Jaylynn DelRosario scored the Falcons' first goal off a free kick in the 18th minute.

 
Freshman keeper  Kirstyn Gottschall posted six saves on the day.
 
The Falcons continue BVC play, hosting Contra Costa on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.
