Marin Leads Falcons to Conference-Opening Shutout at Mendocino

Ukiah, Calif. - Freshman Dakota Marin scored four of the Falcons' eight as the Solano women's soccer team opened Bay Valley Conference (BVC) play with an 8-0 shutout at Mendocino on Friday afternoon. 

The Falcons led by three at the midpoint with Marin earning a pair in the 17th and 42nd minutes. Freshmen Lenaye Ringler and Isabel Martinez earned the assists on the two goals.

Freshman Kayla Herman earned her lone goal in the 22nd minute, unassisted. 

In the second half, Solano scored four goals in nine minutes, starting with freshman Ximena Rodriguez's score in the 72nd minute off a feed from freshman Amber Morales. Morales and Rodriguez changed places with Morales earning her first goal in the 74th minute on an assist from Rodriguez before scoring another goal in the 81st minute from Ringler. Marin scored her third and fourth goals in the 52nd and 79th minutes. 

Freshmen Bailey Erbland, Fatima Guzman, and Jessica Biasotti all shared time in the goal with Erbland playing the first 45 and the other two splitting the second half.

Solano (2-4) returns home to host Los Medanos next on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.
