Rydjord Paces Falcon Offense in Win over Contra Costa

Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman Dani Rydjord hit .417 with 13 kills to lead the Falcons to a sweep of Contra Costa on Wednesday evening.

Set scores were 25-11, 25-12, 25-8.

Freshman Sammy Brown posted a solid all-around match with eight kills, 10 digs, and five aces. Freshman Chris Rigney Cruz chipped in six kills, adding a couple of aces, serving errorless.

Sophomore Kailyn Kaiser led the Solano defense in the backcourt with 13 digs, while adding four aces. Freshman Sarah Elledge led the team defensively at the net with a pair of blocks and a pair of kills.

"We need to be ready to play our toughest BVC opponents in the next few weeks," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "This is where our tough preseason should help us navigate our conference. We hope to be back to full force in the next week as we still have a few injuries."

The Falcons (9-11, 2-0) head on the road to Napa Valley on Friday, Oct. 8 for a 6 p.m. match.
