Women's Volleyball Wins 10th Straight in Sweep of Napa Valley

Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman Dani Rydjord tallied 13 kills with three aces to lead the Solano women's volleyball team to its 10th-straight win with a sweep of Napa Valley on Wednesday evening.

Set scores were 25-7, 25-12, 25-11.

"We played some absolutely solid offense and defense," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "The team played in sync and executed throughout. We remain in first place in the BVC with a 10-0 record with a big match on Friday against Marin, who sits in second place right now."

Sophomore Anaya Rodriguez directed the offense with 20 assists, adding 10 digs. Freshman Sammy Brown added nine kills with three aces and nine digs, while sophomore Kailyn Kaiser paced the backcourt defense with 12 digs, adding a pair of aces.

Freshman Crystal Carroll added eight digs, while freshman Bryanna Lott posted a pair of key blocks. Freshman Chris Rigney Cruz capped off her match with three blocks.

"In the first set, we didn't complete one full rotation, and Anaya [Rodriguez] didn't get to serve," Williams said. "I honestly think our team is playing really well together right now. Subbing in players off the bench did not result in losing any momentum. We are playing our best ball right now which is necessary with only a few weeks before playoffs begin."

Solano (17-11, 10-0) remains home, hosting Marin on Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. Fans are welcome, but face coverings are required.
