San Mateo, Calif. - Freshman Matthew Hansen recorded a multi-hit game, but the Solano baseball team fell 8-3 in its season opener at San Mateo on Tuesday.

Hansen belted a triple in the eighth inning after a single to put a runner in scoring position in the sixth.

Sophomore hurlers Danny Zaldivar (0-1) and Bobby Meadows split time on the mound, combining for three strikeouts.

The Falcons (0-1) host San Mateo in their home opener on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.
