San Pablo, Calif. - Sophomore Sunmi Da Silva led the Falcons to a 71-51 Bay Valley Conference play opening win over Contra Costa on Wednesday evening.

Da Silva scored 13, shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc (3-of-6) and chipping in five boards and dishing three assists. Sophomore Elizabeth Martinez and freshmen Jada Scott and Vanessa Hughes backed her up with 11 points each. Hughes pulled down a team-high eight rebounds with four steals and three assists, while Scott earned a team-high five steals and four assists.

Solano (8-7, 1-0) continues conference play, hosting Yuba on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. to close out the 2018 calendar.
