Fairfield, Calif. - Behind four players in double-figures for points, the Solano women's basketball team opened Bay Valley Conference play with a commanding 76-37 win over Contra Costa on Wednesday evening.

Freshman Lexi Derf led the way with 18 points, while freshman Ashmeen Sran and sophomore Vanessa Hughes each chipped in 14, and freshman Rachel Everett added 13 off the bench. Hughes tallied a double-double with 10 boards, while Sran added five assists and two steals.

The Falcons held Contra Costa to scoring in the single digits in the first three quarters en route to the victory.

Solano (6-7, 1-0) close out 2019 hosting Yuba on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
