Somontan Posts Record-Setting Night in Solano Sweep of Contra Costa

Fairfield, Calif. - Sophomore Allora Somontan set the school record for most aces in a match with 17 to lead the Falcons to their 12th-straight sweep, ninth in conference, on Wednesday evening over Contra Costa (25-8, 25-8, 25-1).

Somontan was nearly flawless at the service line, earning 17 aces on 38 successful serves. 

Sophomore Haley Del Rio led the Falcon offense with 11 kills, while freshman Lindsey McLaughlin chipped in seven. Freshman Anaya Rodriguez hit errorless with five kills, adding three aces on errorless serving.

Defensively, freshman Rocelyn Hongria counted eight digs, and freshman Alyssa Cruz came off the bench to add five digs with two perfect passes.

 

Solano (17-5, 9-0) remains home to host Mendocino, who currently sits in third place in Bay Valley Conference play, on Friday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
