Fairfield, Calif. - The Falcons outhit San Mateo, but a ninth inning rally came up short in the series finale as Solano lost 7-5 on Saturday.

The Falcons edged the Bulldogs 7 to 6 in hits and left a runner in scoring position in the ninth.

Freshman Kyle Krebs scored a pair of runs for Solano, batting third in the order, with a 1-of-3 performance including a double and a walk. Sophomore Tyler Pearsall also tallied a double.

Freshman Nathan Guitierrez was charged with the loss, closing the game and throwing three complete innings. He allowed four earned runs on three hits with five strikeouts.

The baseball team (0-4) heads to Skyline College next on Tuesday, Feb. 6 for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
