Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano baseball team edged Laney, 5-4, in the series opener on Tuesday afternoon.

Offensively, freshman Jason Pridy went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, RBI, and run, while freshman Nico Castrillo went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, two runs, and RBI. Freshman Eli De Guzman also recorded a multi-hit outing with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate.

Freshman Richard Mealey pitched the complete-game win, allowing only three earned runs with five strikeouts.

Solano (10-22) heads to Laney for game two of the series on Thursday, Apr. 21 for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
