Softball Remains Perfect in BVC Play with Sweep of Yuba

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano softball team remained perfect in Bay Valley Conference play with a sweep of Yuba on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons nearly shut out the 49ers, winning the two games in scores of 15-0 and 15-1 with both ending in five innings.

Sophomore Courtney McGraw and freshman Caitlin Aston were perfect at the plate in the first game with McGraw earning four hits with five RBI and Aston counting three hits, scoring four runs, and tallying three RBI. McGraw (3-3) earned the complete-game shutout in the circle, scattering four hits and striking out six.

In the second game, sophomores Alaena Selden and Aleya Turner combined for five of the team's 12 hits with seven combined RBI and six runs. Freshman Britney Czelusniak (2-4) earned the complete-game win with seven strikeouts.

The softball team (15-13, 8-0) heads to Los Medanos next on Saturday, Apr. 13 for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
