Softball Splits with Siskiyous

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano softball team split with Siskiyous, picking up game one, 9-6, while being edged in game two, 8-7, on Saturday afternoon.

The bats came out in game one with three Falcons recording multi-base hits, two with a multi-RBI outing, and a pair earning a multi-hit game. Freshman Kourtney Patrick fell into each of those three categories, going 2-for-3, adding a double and a pair of runs. Freshman Gabriella Ibarra went 2-for-2 with a run and RBI.

Ibarra kept it up in game two with another multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and a run, belting out a home run. Freshman Jayden Sola added a double and RBI of her own, going 1-for-2 with a run.

Freshman Maleah Martinez earned the complete-game win in the circle, scattering eight hits, allowing only five runs, and striking out 10. Freshman Kiera Edwards was the pitcher of record in the second game, tossing 3.2 innings, allowing nine hits and five earned runs.

Solano (4-14) returns to action on Friday, Mar. 18, hosting Chabot for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
