Women's Basketball Runs Past Contra Costa

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano women's basketball team remained perfect in Bay Valley Conference play after a dominating 78-43 outing against Contra Costa on Friday evening.

Freshman Vanessa Hughes provided a spark off the bench early in the game before sophomores Kameron Hatcher and Sabrina Zerbey followed with great defense and solid free throw shooting to give the Falcons a 19 point lead at the half. Hughes ended the game with seven points with Hatcher and Zerbey adding nine and 10 points, respectively.

Sophomore Jessica Rapolla hit four three-pointers in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 total points in the game, to fire up the crowd and help the team win all four quarters in a very strong defensive performance.

Solano (14-7, 6-0) heads to Yuba next on Wednesday, Jan. 30 for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
