Sacramento, Calif. - Sophomore Cherika Rafan led the Falcons to a season-opening 61-48 win over American River on on Thursday at the Cosumnes River College Invitational.

Rafan paced the Solano offense with 15 points adding three boards, four assists, and four steals. Sophomore Zaire Brown was close behind with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Freshmen Genesis Ernie-Hamilton and Paige Peterson rounded out the scorers in double figures with 11 points each.

Solano (1-0) continues play in the CRC Invitational on Friday, facing LA Trade Tech at 12 p.m.
