Falcons Cruise to Sweep of Marin

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano women's volleyball team cruised to a sweep of Mendocino (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) on Friday evening.

"The first set was a battle - closer than it looks on the box score," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "We didn't play our best match - it was our third this week - but it was enough to win. We served really tough, 71-of-73, and it caused a bit of havoc on the other side of the net."

Sophomore Kailyn Kaiser led the defensive efforts in the backcourt with 21 digs and not missing a serve. Freshman Sammy Brown added 15 digs, while tallying a team-high nine kills and adding an ace. Freshmen Chris Rigney Cruz and Dani Rydjord each earned seven kills, while Rigney Cruz tallied a pair of blocks, and Rydjord counted a couple of aces.

Sophomore Anaya Rodriguez directed the Falcon offense with 14 assists, adding 14 digs and three aces.

Solano (18-11, 11-0) remain home to host Mendocino next on Monday, Nov. 8. The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m. Fans are welcome, but face coverings are required.
