Falcons Four-Peat as BVC Champions; Sweep Mendocino

Ukiah, Calif. - The Solano women's volleyball team completed the BVC Champion four-peat with a sweep of Mendocino (25-15, 25-19, 25-16) on Friday evening.

The Falcons finished the regular season 21-11, 14-0 in BVC play.

"I am extremely proud of this team," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "We have been hit with challenges including illnesses and injuries, not only pertaining to COVID-19. But the team stuck together, played together, and built great friendships along the way. We look forward to the next challenge in the playoffs."

Freshman Dani Rydjord led all hitters with 14 kills, adding a pair of aces. Sophomore Mylei Moli chipped in eight kills, while freshman Chris Rigney Cruz earned six kills and two blocks.

Sophomore Kailyn Kaiser paced the backcourt defense with 16 digs with a trio of aces with sophomore Anaya Rodriguez close behind with a double-double of 10 digs and 15 assists. At the net, freshmen Gina Garlick and Sarah Elledge both posted three blocks with freshman Bryanna Lott adding a block and several touches that helped the backcourt defense.

Solano will await its postseason fate, to be decided on Thursday, Nov. 18. The Falcons will either play on Saturday, Nov. 20 or Tuesday, Nov. 23.
