Quintet of Volleyball Student-Athletes Post High Marks

Fairfield, Calif. - A quintet of women's volleyball student-athletes posted top marks to earn academic honors.

Sophomore opposite hitter/setter Anaya Rodriguez led the way for the Falcons, being named to the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) All-Academic squad. In order to be considered, a student-athlete must post a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have completed at least 24 units from her first season of competition. Rodriguez finished her AA degreee in general science as a nursing major.

Freshmen middle blocker Sarah Elledge and setter Jeryn Baldonado both posted top grades after missing competition in 2020 due to COVID-19. Elledge will have an AA in general science as a biology major. She is planning on transferring to either UC Davis or UC Santa Cruz after graduation. Baldonado will graduate with a degree in psychology after this year and will transfer to California State University, Sacramento.

Sophomore libero Kailyn Kaiser finished her second season with Solano, and she has finished her AA in criminal justice. She transfered to California State University, Sacramento at the beginning of the semester.

And freshman outside hitter Sammy Brown is ahead of schedule on her way to an AA in biology, taking a tough academic schedule throughout the year. She has taken Calculus 2, and she currently is enrolled in Biology 2 and Chemistry 2.
