Falcons fall to Shasta College

Falcons fall to Shasta College

Solano lost to Shasta College in 3 sets: 27-25, 25-18, 25-19

The Falcons struggled a bit in this non-conference match.  Even though they did not have all of our players, they put their best foot forward.  Solano should get back on track to play in their next conference match on Wed at Contra Costa.  The Falcons did defeat Shasta at their last meeting in mid September, and they just got ranked #9 in North Cal community colleges, after beating a tough Santa Rosa team last Friday, so disappointing for the loss, but they were not firing on all cylinders.

Hannah Del Rio led the offense with 11 kills and 4 blocks

Crystal Carroll led the way with the defense with 16 digs, serving 11-12 with an ace

Dani Rydjord served 18-18 with 4 aces, added 4 kills and 23 assists

Kelsey Wall chipped in 7 kills and 9 digs

Haley Woodworth served 6-7

Eryka Ferrer added 6 digs and served 8-9

Codi LePak-Murphy added 4 kills and 3 digs

Solano returns to Bay Valley Conference play on Wednesday at Contra Costa College, and home on Friday against Mendocino College.  Solano has won 40 straight BVC matches, and they plan to continue that streak this week.
