NOVEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

NOVEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

SCC Falcon's nominated player of the month: setter Dani Rydjord #14, Volleyball

This young lady had to step in to set for us this year. She has NEVER been a setter.  We discovered we would not have a setter for the spring '22, so she volunteered.  Then into summer, no true setter (with varsity experience) so she stuck with it.  She got right into a 5-1 offense when we had two concussions with the 2nd and 3rd setters in August.

NAMED to the 1st TEAM All Bay Valley Conference for the second year in a row.

She is #1 in BVC for Assists per set (7.84), in Aces per set she is #3 in BVC and #3 in hitting %.  She is #4 in the State in Aces per set and top 4 in the state with total Assists.  Her presence at the net was big in BVC action for us and mostly running a 5-1 due to concussions (early on with two players), we did allow her to hit with a 6-2 as often as possible in conference, but found she ran a better offense in a 5-1 so that is our best line up.   She is co-captain of the team & the floor captain.

We would not be the team we are without her as our starting setter. She has made us better for this unselfish move of positions from outside hitter a year ago to the right side and setting six rotations.  We are strongest with a 5-1, but this takes her out of hitting, at 6'0 she likes to hit.  She is smart and finds her hot hitters. She is looking to play on with volleyball, open for positions and wants to study History and American Sign Language to be a teacher.

BVC 12-0 record

Overall 24-8 record
