Solano Defeats Butte in Four Sets
The Solano Falcons picked up a strong home victory in game 1 on Wednesday, September 24, defeating Butte College in four sets (25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 25-14).
Sophomore Kaylie Reyes led the way with 16 kills, 18 assists, and 14 digs, hitting an impressive .326. Giana Guintu added a double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs, while Aliyah Aguiar chipped in 11 kills and 12 points overall. At the net, Kyra Ierome and Ashlee Conley combined for three blocks, helping secure the win.
As a team, Solano tallied 55 kills on .188 hitting while holding Butte to limited offensive production. The Falcons closed out the match in dominant fashion with a decisive 25-14 fourth set.
With the victory, Solano improves its momentum in conference play, showing balance on offense and solid defensive effort.
Falcons Outlast Siskiyous in Five-Set Battle
The Solano Falcons capped off a big night of volleyball on Wednesday, September 24, with a thrilling five-set victory over College of the Siskiyous (19-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-9, 15-2).
After trading sets early, Solano surged in the fourth with a dominant 25-9 win and carried that momentum into the deciding set, closing strong with a 15-2 finish.
Kaylie Reyes led the charge with 19 kills, 13 assists, and 23 total points, while Aliyah Aguiar added 14 kills on .379 hitting. Lilliana Mass contributed 12 kills and 4 aces, and setter Giana Guintu ran the offense with 25 assists and 13 digs. At the net, Reyes and Mass combined for 5 blocks to help the Falcons seal the win.
As a team, Solano hit .250 with 51 total kills and 10 service aces, showcasing balance and resilience to secure the comeback.
Bay Valley Conference play begins October 3rd, as the Falcons host the Yuba College 49ers.
