Solano Dominates Contra Costa in BVC Series Opener, 8-2

SAN PABLO, CA – Solano College baseball kicked off its series with a commanding 8-2 victory over Contra Costa on Tuesday afternoon. A combination of strong pitching and timely hitting propelled the Falcons to a win on the road.

Game Recap

Solano struck first in the second inning when Rolando Ramos knocked in a run with an RBI single. Contra Costa responded in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single from Kevin Furuta, tying the game at 1-1. However, Solano’s offense continued to pressure, adding another run in the fourth before breaking the game open in the later innings.

A three-run sixth inning put the Falcons firmly in control, highlighted by Michael Rivera’s two-run single. Solano tacked on three more runs in the eighth, sealing the victory with a final score of 8-2. Rivera led the charge with three hits and two RBIs, while Joseph Dain added two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

Pitching Dominance

Solano’s pitching staff was lights out, combining for 11 strikeouts while allowing just five hits. Starter Peyten Czekalewski delivered five strong innings, surrendering only one earned run and striking out seven. Nick Kaumbulu closed out the final four innings, limiting the Comets to one run while securing the save.
