Solano Secures 11-6 Victory Over Cabrillo with Strong Offensive Performance

In a high-scoring affair, the Solano College baseball team outlasted Cabrillo College 11-6 on the road, powered by a relentless offense and solid pitching contributions.

Early Offensive Surge Sets the Tone

Solano wasted no time putting runs on the board, scoring three in the first inning and adding two more in the second to take an early 5-0 lead. The Falcons capitalized on Cabrillo’s fielding struggles, with timely hits from Rolando Ramos, Mason Sayre, and Cameron Taylor driving in runs.

Cabrillo responded in the bottom of the second with a run of their own, but Solano’s offense exploded again in the fourth inning, plating five runs to extend their lead to 10-1. A key three-RBI performance from Trevor Lesperance, including a sacrifice fly and a clutch double, helped put the game out of reach early.

Starting pitcher Peyten Czekalewski (W, 1-0) threw five solid innings, allowing eight hits but limiting Cabrillo to just two earned runs. He struck out three and walked two before handing the ball to Nick Kaumbulu, who pitched three innings of one-run ball. Tyler Chalk closed the game with a perfect ninth, striking out three to seal the win.

On the defensive side, both teams struggled with errors—Solano committed three, while Cabrillo had four miscues that contributed to the Falcons’ scoring opportunities.
