Solano Edges Lassen in High-Scoring Contest

FAIRFIELD, Calif. - In a game filled with offensive firepower, the Solano Falcons held off a late rally from the Lassen Cougars to secure a 9-8 victory at home. The Falcons capitalized on a strong start and timely hitting to maintain their lead, despite Lassen’s late surge.

Early Advantage for Solano

Solano jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the first inning and adding two more in the third. Mason Sayre led the offensive charge with three hits and two RBIs, while Cameron Taylor contributed three hits and an RBI. The Falcons continued to add pressure, scoring two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to extend their lead to 8-1.

Lassen’s Late Rally

The Cougars responded in the later innings, scoring a run in the sixth before a three-run seventh inning closed the gap. Mitchell Basterrechea and Rominic Quiban provided key hits to keep Lassen within reach. The ninth inning saw Lassen mount a final push, plating four runs, but Solano's defense held strong to seal the victory.

Key Performances

For Solano, Cooper Dwyer had a strong outing at the plate with three hits and two RBIs, while Joseph Dain also contributed a crucial RBI. On the mound, Daniel Rios and the Falcons' bullpen worked through Lassen’s lineup effectively, despite some late-inning trouble.
