Kentfield, CA — Behind a dominant start from Eli Blurton and a relentless offensive attack, Solano College (15–20, 7–10) upset Bay Valley Conference leader College of Marin (25–10-1, 15–2) with a commanding 10–5 road victory on Thursday.
Solano came out swinging, pounding out 17 hits en route to handing Marin just its second conference loss of the season. Left fielder Matteo Copp was unstoppable at the plate, going 4-for-6 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Rolando Ramos added three hits, including a homer of his own, and matched Copp with two RBIs.
The Falcons broke the game open early, scoring three runs in the second and never trailing. They added on consistently, plating runs in six different innings and showing poise against a deep Marin pitching staff.
Starter Eli Blurton (3-3) was brilliant, tossing six innings of two-hit ball, striking out eight and allowing just one earned run. His strong outing gave Solano all the momentum they needed to control the game.
Bryce Alcantara, Cameron Taylor, Andrew Lammon, and Tyler Chalk also contributed multi-hit games for Solano, while Taylor added two doubles and Chalk swiped a base.
They'll look to carry the momentum into their next matchup vs Napa College as the regular season winds down.
