Ann Talamantes-Ristow joined the Solano women's basketball coaching staff in 2011 after serving as the head coach for the Hogan High girls basketball team for 15 years. When the Vallejo Unified School District voted to close Hogan due to budget cuts, she decided her life with basketball wasn't over. At that time, Solano head women's basketball coach Matt Borchert welcomed her to the staff with open arms.

Talamantes-Ristow brings more than 15 years teaching experience to the program and is a well-respected coach in Northern California. She led the Spartans to the Sac-Joaquin Section title game in 2006 where they faced off with crosstown rival Vallejo High.

She was named a Model Coach by both the Solano County Athletic Conference and the Sac-Joaquin Section in 2011. In 2004, she was named the Vallejo Times-Herald Coach of the Year, before being inducted into the Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame in 2020 for coaching, although the induction had to be postponed due to COVID-19.

In addition to the many hours she's spent on the basketball court, Talamantes-Ristow assisted coaching the badminton, softball and volleyball teams at Hogan High. She served as the activities director and athletic director at the school as well, thoroughly enjoying her role working with kids.

Talamantes-Ristow is a P.E. teacher and student activities director at Bethel High in Vallejo. She also coaches the badminton team.

She lives in Vallejo with her husband, Mark, and their three dogs, Rosie, Jemma and Herman. In her spare time, she loves to travel, cook, read and work in the garden.
