Solano College’s beach volleyball team competed in a doubleheader at CRC on February 28, facing College of Marin and Siskiyous. The Falcons secured a strong victory against Marin but fell just short against Siskiyous in a closely contested matchup.

Match 1: Solano vs. College of Marin

Solano dominated the matchup against College of Marin, winning 4-1. The Falcons’ pairs delivered impressive performances, securing victories in four out of five matches.

• No. 1 Pair: B. Davis and AJ Projillo faced a tough Marin duo, Novichkora/Martin, and fell in straight sets (11-21, 10-21).

• No. 2 Pair: A. Aguiar and G. Guintu showcased their strength, sweeping Bowen/Quian 21-10, 21-4.

• No. 3 Pair: L. Mass and J. Capilli battled through three sets, rallying after dropping the first set to win 12-21, 21-9, 15-11.

• No. 4 Pair: F. Calvelo and J. Bermundez displayed dominance, defeating Stull/Fernandez 21-9, 21-6.

• No. 5 Pair: M. Lovell and M. Asuncion sealed the match with a commanding 21-4, 21-6 win over Testa/Beard.

Solano’s strong showing led to a decisive 4-1 victory over Marin, demonstrating their skill and teamwork.

Match 2: Solano vs. Siskiyous

Solano faced a tougher challenge against Siskiyous, ultimately falling 2-3 in a tightly contested match.

• No. 1 Pair: B. Davis and AJ Projillo edged out Moala/Gastelum in a close battle, winning 21-14, 23-21.

• No. 2 Pair: A. Aguiar and G. Guintu pushed their opponents to three sets but fell to Speasi/Graviet 19-21, 21-15, 10-15.

• No. 3 Pair: L. Mass and J. Capilli fought hard in another three-set thriller but lost to Tagler/Paarseh 13-21, 21-13, 17-19.

• No. 4 Pair: F. Calvelo and J. Bermundez struggled against Oakley/Colombo, dropping both sets 15-21, 14-21.

• No. 5 Pair: M. Lovell and M. Asuncion delivered another win, defeating Bridwell/Brooks 21-13, 21-18.

Despite the loss, Solano demonstrated resilience and competitiveness, nearly securing the win against a tough Siskiyous squad.
