FAIRFIELD, CA — The Solano Community College men’s tennis team put on an impressive performance against Diablo Valley College, earning a 6-3 victory in a competitive matchup. Strong showings in both doubles and singles play helped the Falcons claim the win.

Doubles Matches

The match started with a hard-fought doubles battle at the No. 1 spot, where Jeffrey Jaymot and Tianyou Chen pushed Willy Rivera and Brian Wills to the limit but fell short, 8-6. However, Solano quickly responded as the No. 2 pair, Ethan Husainali and Lance Topacio, dominated Romelo Felix and JC Espiritu, securing an 8-2 victory. At the No. 3 spot, Solano picked up a default win, giving them an early advantage heading into singles play.

Singles Action

Solano’s Jeffrey Jaymot battled Rivera at the No. 1 position, securing a 6-4 first-set victory before Rivera retired due to injury, awarding Jaymot the win. Chen delivered another strong performance for the Falcons, defeating Felix in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1.

Diablo Valley responded with dominant wins, as Wills overwhelmed Husainali (6-0, 6-0) and Keyser Theodore controlled his match against Topacio (6-0, 6-1). However, Solano clinched the overall victory with two more default wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots.
