Solano Women's Soccer Continues Undefeated Streak with a 5-0 Victory
Solano Community College's women's soccer team continues to dominate the competition in the BVC , maintaining an undefeated record in conference play after a resounding 5-0 victory against Merritt College on Tuesday, October 10. The scoring began early in the match, with Gabby Becerra netting the first goal just five minutes in, beautifully assisted by Kate-Lynn Jimenez. Kate-Lynn Jimenez, who had a spectacular day, added to the lead with a goal in the 31st minute, benefiting from assists by Gabby Gonzalez and Aaliyah Padilla. The Solano squad wasn't about to let up, with Gabby Gonzalez finding the net in the 37th minute, once again supported by the dynamic duo of Kate-Lynn Jimenez and Aaliyah Padilla. Just before halftime, Kate-Lynn Jimenez struck again with her second goal, this time assisted by Briana Shafer in the 39th minute. The solo effort came from Jimenez herself, with an unassisted goal in the 42nd minute, capping off a great performance.
The goalkeeping duties were shared by Julia Villareal, who played for 70 minutes, and the versatile Kate-Lynn Jimenez, who stepped into the role for the final 20 minutes. Solano's overall record now stands at 3-6-1, and they maintain a perfect 3-0-0 record in the Bay Valley Conference.
