Gotschall, Kelly-Fondersmith Lead Falcons' Eight BVC Honors

Fairfield, Calif. - Sophomores Kirstyn Gotschall and Isabella Kelly-Fondersmith led the Falcons' eight Bay Valley Conference honors, announced Monday.

Gotschall nabbed Goalkeeper of the Year accolades, while Kelly-Fondersmith was named the BVC Midfielder of the Year. Sophomores Karla Cardinal, Brooke Molina, and Isabel Olmedo were tabbed All-BVC First Team, while freshman Samarah Hendricks and sophomores Grace Lee and Melinda Rashidian were all named All-BVC Second Team.

Gotschall was named 2018 All-State First Team, All-Nor-Call First Team, and the BVC Player of the Year. She recorded 17 shutouts during her tenure at Solano, starting every match. She also was named Solano Athletics Athlete of the Month once each year.

Kelly-Fondersmith recorded seven goals and three assists in 2019 after being named to the All-BVC Second Team in 2018.

Cardinal earned three goals and 15 assists in 2019, good for third in the state for assists and topping the conference. In 2018, she was named the Bay Valley Conference Midfielder of the Year with five goals and 23 assists, good for third in the state for assists and again leading the conference.

Olmedo chalked up 10 goals and three assists in 2019 after being named the 2018 Bay Valley Conference Forward of the Year. In her rookie season she tallied 22 goals with eight assists. Her goals were good for ninth in the state and first in the conference.

Lee counted three goals and eight assists in the 2019 campaign after earning two goals and three assists in 2018, which earned her a All-BVC Second Team nod.

 

And Rashidian ended her career with a pair of All-Conference accolades, being named to the first team in 2018.
