On Friday, sophomore day, Solano College Women's Soccer secured a victory over Merritt College, triumphing with a final score of 8-0 at Solano on Friday. The first half saw an impressive 5-0 lead for Solano, setting the stage for a commanding win. The goal scorers for Solano were Kate-Lynn Jimenez, who found the net twice with an assist from Giovanna Edwards in the 2nd minute and  Briana Shafer in the 37th minute; Giovanna Edwards, who scored in the 8th minute with assists from Roselyn Zamudio and Denise Aguigui; Ella Gervasoni, who scored in the 20th minute with assists from Kate-Lynn Jimenez and Aaliyah Padilla:  Giovanna Edwards, who netted a goal in the 26th minute unassisted, and Kate-Lynn Jimenez once more in the 54th minute with an assist from Itzel Urzua. 

 

The final goals came from Kate-Lynn Jimenez in the 81st minute with assists from Ella Gervasoni and Jayden Hill, and Nayelly Orellana in the 83rd minute with an assist from Jayden Hill. Jayden Hill served as the goalkeeper in the first half, while Gabby Becerra took over the goalkeeper duties in the second half. With this win, Solano College's BVC Conference record stands at an impressive 7-1-2. This week Solano will close out the regular season with a home game vs Mendocino and an away game vs Conference rival Los Medanos
