Local Roundup: Solano women’s soccer defeats Marin

The Solano College women’s soccer team defeated College of Marin 4-2 on Tuesday as Kate-Lynn Jimenez recorded a hat trick.

Jimenez had her first two goals assisted by Gabby Gonzalez in minute five and nine respectively while the second goal also had an assist from Julia Villareal.

Jimenez’s third goal was assisted by Villareal and Jayden Hill in minute 15, while Villareal scored with an assist coming from Giovanna Edwards in minute 85.

Briana Shafer was the goalkeeper for the first half, while Jimenez was in net for the second half.

Solano’s next match is at Merritt College on Tuesday.

FAIRFIELD — Kate-Lynn Jimenez scored three first-half goals for a hat trick and played goalkeeper in the second half Tuesday as the Solano Community College women's soccer team beat visiting College of Marin 4-2.

Jimenez scored her first goal five minutes into the match off an assist from Gabby Gonzalez. Julia Villareal and Gonzalez had the assists four minutes later for Jimenez. Fifteen minutes into the match Jimenez struck again with assists from Villareal and Jayden Hill. The Falcons went up 3-2 at halftime.

Villareal scored a goal off an assist from Giovanna Edwards at the 85-minute mark of the second half. Briana Shafer was the first-half goalkeeper.

Solano is now 2-0 in the Bay Valley Conference and 2-6-1 overall. The Falcons will play at Merritt College next Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m.
