Greenwood Tabbed MVP; Four Falcons Earn All-Conference Honors

Fairfield, Calif. - Sophomore Destiny Greenwood was tabbed the Bay Valley Conference (BVC) Most Valuable Player with three other Falcons joining her with All-Conference honors, announced Sunday.

Sophomore setter Mia Pimentel earned first team honors, freshman Kailyn Kaiser was named to the second team, and freshman Ixchel Moreno Valdovinos earned honorable mention accolades.

Greenwood finished the regular season leading the state in kills with 454, good for second in the CCCAA for kills per set (4.78) with an average of 16 kills per match this season. She was named the CCCWVCA Player of the Week and Solano Athletics September Athlete of the Month. She added 87 digs, 20 solo blocks, 13 block assists, and 17 service aces.

Pimentel racked up 752 total assists in the regular season, 390 in conference play. Her 7.92 assists per set numbers was good for second in the conference, and she amassed 25 service aces and 139 kills. Additionally she had 114 digs in conference play. She broke the school record for most assists in a single match, and she was named the Solano Athletics October Athlete of the Month.

Kaiser led the conference in digs with 191 in league play, averaging 4.34 digs per set. She added 21 assists and 22 service aces. On the season she had 320 digs as libero.

And Moreno Valdovinos was second on the team with 89 kills in conference play, averaging 1.90 kills per set. She posted 130 digs and 11 service aces. Overall on th e season, she had 149 kills and 213 digs. 

The Falcons await their postseason fate after finishing conference play 13-1, and 18-10 overall in the regular season.
