Makayla "MJ" Johnson joined the Solano women's volleyball coaching staff at the beginning of the 2021 season after playing for Coach Darla Williams in 2016 and 2017.

She has played 11 years of competitive volleyball and has assisted with the Solano College summer volleyball camps in the past. 

Johnson graduated from Solano College with an AA in Liberal Studies and transferred to Sacramento State University.  

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Sacramento State in 2022 in Kinesiology with the concentration of Physical Education, Conditioning and Coaching. She plans on continuing her education to earn her master’s degree in Exercise Science to become a strength and conditioning coach.
