We played our first day of the Delta Tournament.  Finished 1-1 on the day, we return on Saturday to play at 1pm.

We beat College of Sequoias in four sets: 25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21

Vanessa Semien led us at the net with 15 kills, added 13 digs and 4 aces

Jada Cuffie had 12 kils and added one solo block

Aliyah Aguiar chipped in 8 kills

Breanna Davis led the defense with 19 digs, added 15 assist

AJ Projillo added 17 digs,  served 19-20 with 2 aces

Vanya Paopao served 28-28, had 23 assist and chipped in 15 digs

It was great to get that first win at this tournament because it puts us on the winners side of the bracket, we will get the toughest competition this way. 

WE played the Host Delta College at 6pm and lost in three sets: 25-4, 30-28, 25-8

It was not a great team effort, we did not play up to our abilities. 

Breanna Davis led us with 10 digs

Giana Guintu served 6-6 with 2 aces

Aliyah Aguiar led the offense with 5 kills

Jada Cuffie chipped in 3 kills and 3 blocks

This was a tough loss all the way around on defense and offense.  I hope we can give them a better game the next time we run into them.  Delta is a tough notch team in the state, but we still feel we can compete better with them after going five sets the first meeting. 

Saturday we will start play at 1pm against College of San Mateo and then our next opponent will depend on the win or lost at 1pm.
