Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano women's soccer and softball teams volunteered their time for the annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday morning.

The women's soccer team contributed its efforts on the Solano Community College campus, while the softball team volunteered at Hill Slough in Suisun City.

The California Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest annual volunteer event in California. It boasts nearly 1.5 million volunteers from its inception in 1985, and it has cleaned up more than 23 million pounds of trash and recyclables.
