FAIRFIELD, CA – Solano College is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievement of two exemplary student-athletes, Samantha Brown and Kyla Maghoney, who have been selected to the 2022-23 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. This prestigious recognition celebrates their exceptional accomplishments in academics, athletics, citizenship, and community service.

Samantha Brown, an exceptional Women's Volleyball player, completed two AA degrees in Biology and Chemistry while maintaining an impressive 3.95 GPA. Kyla Maghoney, a standout performer in Women's Basketball, graduated in Nursing with a perfect 4.00 GPA. These commendable student-athletes will be honored during the Scholar-Athlete Luncheon at the annual 3C2A Convention on March 27, 2024, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento, where a total of 19 remarkable individuals will be recognized for their excellence in academics, athletics, and citizenship.

Along with only three other community colleges, Solano College is represented by two student-athletes on the statewide Honor Roll. "With nearly 24,000 student-athletes in the 3C2A, your accomplishment is one of which we at Solano are extremely proud," said Erik Visser, Solano College Athletics Director. "Samantha and Kyla's dedication to their studies, athletic performance, citizenship, and community engagement exemplifies the values we uphold at Solano College. We are delighted to see them recognized on the statewide stage, and this achievement reflects the high standards they have set for themselves."
