Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano softball team split its season opener against American River taking the first game, 6-5, before falling 3-1 in the second game of the doubleheader on Thursday.

Sophomore Aleya Turner and freshman Larissa Raymond both recorded multi-hit games in the first game of the doubleheader with Turner recording a double and Raymond earning a RBI.

In the circle, sophomore Adriana Montuya earned the complete game win with five strikeouts.

The Falcons (1-1) remain home to host Diablo Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 12 for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
