Softball Rebounds with Extra-Innings Victory over Butte

Oroville, Calif. - The Solano softball team scored three runs in the top of the eighth to seal the extra-innings 5-2 victory at Butte on Friday afternoon.

The Falcons scored all three runs with two outs, started by a walk by sophomore Adriana Montuya before she advanced into scoring position at second. Freshman Hailey Enriquez picked up the RBI and advanced to second on a single before back-to-back RBI-doubles by sophomore Jamie Batto and freshman Larissa Raymond scored the pair of insurance runs.

On the day, Enriquez led the Solano battery, going 3-of-4 with a run and RBI. Sophomore Alaena Selden went 2-of-4, both doubles, with two runs scored.

Freshman Britney Czelusniak (1-1) picked up the win, throwing four complete innings with four hits and two earned runs.

Solano (3-5) returns home for a homestand beginning with a doubleheader against Los Medanos on Tuesday, Mar. 5. The first game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
