San Bruno, Calif. - Sophomore centerfielder Isaiah Verrett went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI in the Falcons' 7-4 loss at Skyline on Tuesday afternoon.
Verrett gave Solano an early 2-0 lead in the top of the third on a two-out two-RBI single, scoring freshmen Nick Botello and Alex Peppard.
The Falcons extended their lead back to a two-run edge when he earned his third RBI on a single in the top of the fifth to score freshman Nick Roach and put the Falcons up 3-1.
But the Solano baseball team was unable to overcome a pair of three-run innings by Skyline despite leaving runners on base in the seventh and ninth innings.
Sophomore Nik Dodson (0-1) was charged with the loss, coming into the game in relief in the fifth inning and giving up five earned runs, despite fanning three.
Solano (0-4) heads to Sierra next for a doubleheader on Thursday, Feb. 7 beginning at 11 a.m.
