Sacramento, Calif. - The Solano baseball team was outlasted by American River, 5-4, in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon.
Freshmen Dmitri McLen, Nathan Jessell, Eli De Guzman, and Joey Holecek each counted a pair of hits with McLen posting a pair of RBI.
Solano jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third before American River took a one-run lead behind three unearned runs in the seventh inning. McLen earned his second RBI on a bases-loaded single, but a walk-off sacrifice fly by American River in the 10th closed out the game.
On the mound, freshman Herbie Lane (0-1) was charged with the loss after throwing 1.1 innings, giving up a pair of hits and an unearned run.
Solano (2-10) heads to West LA next on Thursday, Feb. 27 for a 2 p.m. start.
