Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano baseball team was edged by Mendocino, 2-1 and 16-7, to close out the series in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Isaiah Verrett led the team in the first game, putting up a 3-of-4 performance and counting the team's lone RBI to score freshman Alex Peppard.
In the second game, sophomore Bryce Prybylinksi went 3-of-5 with two doubles and four RBI, while sophomore Cameron Michael went 3-of-5 with a double and two RBI.
On the mound, sophomore Bobby Meadows (0-2) was charged with the early loss, throwing two innings and allowing one earned run. Freshman Nick Roach started the game with 13 strikeouts. Sophomore Danny Zaldivar (3-5) was handed the loss in the later game on 3.1 innings pitched with four strikeouts.
The baseball team (9-17, 5-6) open the next Bay Valley Conference series at Los Medanos on Tuesday, Apr. 2 at 2:30 p.m.
