Baseball Splits in Final Contests at Sierra

Rocklin, Calif. - The Solano baseball team split in its final contests at Sierra, earning a 10-5 game two win, but falling 11-4 in the series finale on Friday.

Freshman Nathan Jessell paced the Falcon offense at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and scoring a run. Freshman Victor Vega scored three of the team's runs.

In the second game of the day, Jessell and freshman Brandon Herter both earned two-hit outings with Herter counting a pair of doubles on the day.

Freshman Richard Mealey (3-1) was the pitcher of record in the first game, throwing six full innings with four strikeouts. Freshman Anthony Galindo (1-3) was the pitcher of record in the second game, hurling five complete and allowing three earned runs.

Solano (4-9) returns home to host Diablo Valley on Thursday, May 20 for a 2:30 p.m. first pitch.
